More To The Story.

A Sooner walks into a bar …

I was born and raised in Oklahoma, and yes, in some circles I’m called “The Sooner.” And no matter where I live, that history is with me and often shows up unexpectedly. It’s in my unbridled enthusiasm for college football season, the way I pronounce certain words after a glass or three of wine, and my immense appreciation - and some would say snobbery - for a quality pair of cowboy boots.

With a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters in Counseling from Indiana University, I like to say I can write about people and make them feel good about themselves at the same time. Indeed, I’m a cheap therapist and an excellent drinking companion.

I’m also pretty good at what I do, which is everything from running my business, Woodfish Group, and speaking to groups on a variety of human interest topics, to writing and creating humor columns, online content, audio and video scripts, corporate communications, or inappropriate texts filled with completely ridiculous auto-corrects. I’m also a new co-host with Vida Aventura’s Deseri Garcia for the podcast, Cuban & Sooner: Work-Life Teetering. It’s coming soon, and I so hope you’ll listen - it’s going to be funny, relevant and impactful.

The bottom line is that with a never-ending curiosity, I like to discover, write and tell stories … about people, organizations, companies and communities. We all have them, these wonderful and unique points of view. I help people find their own voice, through words, sentences and the exploring of emotions. Let’s speak, sing, shout and laugh together.
